Hello everyone,
I have been installing baseline Kabuto on most machines brought for repair. For businesses, I have explained what it is and given it as a free option. As of late, I have changed to providing it to businesses with a small one time fee (so that it's worth can be seen) but still providing it to residential customers for free. I simply install it, then inform them when the computer is returned.
The businesses make use of it brilliantly, but residentially it hasn't brought me much benefit, possibly due to how I pitch it. I say something along the lines of:
"...as well as this, I've also installed a piece of software onto your computer. It isn't free, but I have been giving it out lately to residential customers at no cost. What it does, in short, is allow you send me a message through the computer very easily. If there happens to be a fairly serious issue with the machine, a pop up will appear to alert you and allow you to send a message on to me, even if you would just like advice..."
I admit, I have difficulty in finding a way to explain the software properly and in a way that doesn't undersell it. I know that certain words (ie, pop up) always sound bad, but I can't think of another way to put it. At the same time, I would imagine that installing it without any explanation would be worse.
I would be very interested to hear how the rest of you manage. Any advice you could give will be more than welcomed!
