Is there anyway to present a much faster status window when first installing Kabuto? It seems like after you click it, nothing happens for a while then the program finally pops up. No Anti-virus installed, so can't blame that.
(I think) this is because it is either updating or installing .net framework stuff that can take a loooong time.Sometimes you get that unmovable notification window, sometimes not.Depending on internet speed and computer specs, I've had to wait several hours!A little trick I learned to speed it up is have .net 4.6.2 on a usb key or similar and install that first. But it can still take several minutes.
Then a screen should pop up to say, installing X, please wait or something.
No, after you click OK on the "success" window it's installed. You just have to wait for it to configure in the background, usually 3~5 minutes?
What I've learnt with this is you just give it a good 20 minutes before trying to do anything in regards to Kabuto. Some computers are slower than others.
That's fine for a tech install. Most customers won't wait that long. If it doesn't do something in 10 seconds, they double click it again, and again, etc...
Or reboot during the install and mess it all up.
This is why I don't let clients install it at all. Teamviewer works great in as much as I can direct new clients to the Teamviewer website to join a session so I can install it for them.Keeping the client as far away from it as possible leads to successful (and less stressful) installs.
