Hi @Greg - A couple things. As Garrett said: If you deactivate, it's basically like turning off Kabuto - but you get the option to reactivate. But if you check the "Uninstall" checkbox you can't ever reactivate.
The device in question had a very old version of Kabuto installed that was before we released the "Kabuto Service" - which introduced a ton of stability fixes and an entirely new infrastructure. It did check in until March 28th 2017, and then it stopped checking in. This could've been for a lot of reasons, but for whatever reason it never got updated to the new "Service" version. This should never be an issue with newer devices (or any device that's synced since June).
Anyway, since it didn't sync since March, it didn't know it was deactivated, and therefore didn't uninstall EAM. Does that make sense?
Again, this shouldn't be an issue for any device that's checked in since June 2017. For those devices that haven't checked in since then, they're probably in a funky state and need to be reinstalled. This should be a very small percentage of devices, and is because we made a huge update to release the Kabuto Service.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Ian
