I am having trouble with Avast removing TechWARU saying it is a virus what can be done to fix this besides disabling the antivirus software?
Hi - This should be fixed in the next version, as it will be digitally signed. For the meantime, you can whitelist it, or turn off the A/V. I believe this should only affect about 6 A/V's total. You can expect a release within the next week that will fix this.
Let me know if you have any questions,
Ian
Any update with this after the recent update? It's still showing TechWARU.exe as a Trojan
Hey - I was told that they'd fix it, I guess they didn't get around to it. I submitted about 8 more false positive reports to these vendors today:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/0203a19e8d1c5e7eb9a8a8cdfcbed9427587ba249f9cfba4ffc1dd661cf5de92/analysis/1407433853/
So we'll see how quickly they can rectify the situation. I'll keep you posted.
Emsisoft flagged TechWARU.exe false positive. Trojan.Agent/BMJW (B)
Log attached..
Emsisoft Scan Log
Hey Patrick,
Thanks for posting this. We'll get in contact with them and see what we can work out. If you could submit a false positive report as well, that might speed things along.
Thanks again for reporting this!
BitDefender consistently flags it as well. Bitdefender is the AV we sell to customers. Would help if it would no longer flag it.
Hey guys - Emsisoft shouldn't be flagging it any longer.
Regarding Bitdefender, I was informed on Sept 25th that they were working on it. I have not heard back since, so I just pinged them.
Thanks for keeping up with this,
Any update on TechWaru being WhiteListed with BitDefender?
@illinitechs, They got back to us about a week ago saying the they would be adding TechWARU to their white list. I just followed up with them so we'll have to wait and see. I'll post back here when I have a (hopefully) better answer.
Hey guys,
So if (or when) anyone else experiences the bit defender issue, please shoot us the Support Log (how to). They can't do anything about either software until we get those
Just an fyi, BD TS 2016 is flagging this resource as infected. Happens when launching techwaru.exe
@Leighton Thanks for the fyi. I've just sent Bitdefender a false positive report from this page: http://www.bitdefender.com/submit/
Feel free to do the same if you have a second. The more the merrier (faster).
@Michael You seriously typed that url out? Not sure why, but BD won't let me copy to clipboard. Any chance you have that url in a form I can copy - paste?
I copied & pasted the URL from my browser (?). You can't click directly on the link?
If you'd like, searching in Bitdefender's site for "false positive" will get you to the right place
I meant the url of the resource being blocked. Shown in the screenshot I posted. http://c052ec784255...... That's what the false positive report needs, No? Or maybe you just uploaded the image?
Well that makes MUCH more sense! Haha, no, I didn't originally type out the URL in your screenshot. You'd have to be crazy to do that.
I typed out the URL in your screenshot. Here it is:

so you did type it out!... false positive report submitted...
