Hi there,
I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this happen but I've had about 3 clients so far have their Emsisoft Antimalware stop working and it doesn't show any errors in the Kabuto dashboard about it. When I remote into a machine I find that the Emsisoft service is running but the shield icon is not in the taskbar. When I look in the Emsisoft program files folder I find that most of the critical files have been renamed to .old. I suspect that it's an update gone wrong and it has happened too frequently in my book. So far I have found I have to reinstall Emsisoft in order to get things working again. Any idea how to avoid this problem? Thanks.
I had issues with Update Failures on 2 devices, Emsisoft kept failing when trying to update definitions. Found the fix to be a simple reboot. Computer had not rebooted for a couple weeks.
Have you attempted that?
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
It's not the definitions updates, it's the entire program. Any yes, I did try rebooting and Emsisoft was still broken.
When this happens, you need to run Emsiclean , which removes all traces of Emsisoft. Reboot and Reinstall Antimalware. Contact Emsisoft Support to get the program.
I have done this but this is happening to all of my clients repeatedly. So I just wondered if anyone else had the same problem.
